Group Stage

The IEM Dallas 2022 tournament started with a total of 16 teams. The teams were divided into two groups and formed groups A and B from 8 each. Then the group stage opening matches started as Bo1. The teams that succeeded in being the first in the group stage advanced directly to the semi-finals. While the runners-up went to the quarter-finals as High Seeds, the third-placed teams managed to advance to the quarter-finals as Low Seeds.

Group A

Group A was frankly a death group. We watched great fights in the group stage with incredibly tough teams. Below you will be able to see all the matches from all Group A.

  • FaZe Clan 16 – 5 Encore ESC
  • Astralis 12 – 16 Team Vitality
  • G2 Esports 16 – 5 Movistar Riders
  • Mouz 9 – 16 ENCE

At this point, Encore and Movistar Riders unluckily faced very strong opponents. And they took a quick defeat and started fighting in the Lower Bracket. Other teams advanced to Upper Bracket Round 2.

Upper Bracket Round 2

  • FaZe Clan 2 – 0 Team Vitality
  • G2 Esports 0 – 2 ENCE

With these matches, Upper Bracker Round 3 matches have been announced. It was a very important game as the team that won Round 3 would advance directly to the Playoffs semi-finals. And it was really the scene of fierce competition.

Upper Bracket Round 3

  • FaZe Clan 1 – 2 ENCE

As you know, FaZe Clan started to win all the major tournaments in 2022. In the last PGL Major Antwerp 2022, they defeated NaVi in the final and became the champion. However, they have now qualified for the playoffs quarterfinals, taking their first defeat at IEM Dallas 2022.

Lower Bracket Round 1

  • Encore ESC 0 – 2 Astralis
  • Movistar Riders 0 – 2 MOUZ

Lower Bracket Round 2

  • G2 Esports 2 – 1 Astralis
  • Team Vitality 2 – 0 MOUZ

G2 Esports and Team Vitality, who were eliminated from the tournaments due to misfortune, face off in the Lower Bracket final.

Lower Bracket Round 3

  • G2 Esports 2 – 0 Team Vitality

Team Vitality continues to have the problem of not being able to hold on against tough opponents. They had such a disappointment at PGL Major Antwerp 2022. Now they lost to G2 Esports and said goodbye to the tournament.

When we take all this into consideration, the three teams from Group A that participated in the Playoffs were ENCE, G2 Esports and FaZe Clan.

Group B

Just like in A, Group B witnessed high competition. Together with Cloud9, BIG and FURIA, we watched many very enjoyable games to watch. However, at the end of the day, three teams could participate in the playoffs. These are C9, FURIA Esports and BIG, respectively. Now, let’s take a closer look at the tournament adventure of Group B.

  • FURIA Esports 16 – 9 Imperial Esports
  • Team Liquid 6 – 16 Cloud 9
  • Ninjas in Pyjamas 10 – 16 BIG
  • MIBR 16 – 4 Complexity

As you can see, we see sharp and clear results in Group B’s opening matches. Especially FURIA, Cloud9 and MIBR clearly managed to beat their rivals.

Upper Bracket Round 2

  • FURIA Esports 2 – 0 Cloud 9
  • BIG 2 – 0 MIBR

At this stage, Cloud 9 suffered a shock defeat. We can clearly say that no one expected this defeat. However, everything is not over for Cloud 9 yet. On the other hand, BIG took a very comfortable victory against MIBR and advanced to the next level.

Upper Bracket Round 3

  • FURIA Esports 1 – BIG 2

If you remember, ENCE was the first semi-finalist in Group A. In Group B, it was BIG that beat FURIA Esports. Now let’s focus on the lower bracket games that determine the playoffs third team.

Lower Bracket Round 1

  • Imperial Esports 0 – 2 Team Liquid
  • Ninjas in Pyjamas 2 – 0 Complexity

With the shock losses in the Upper Bracket, the teams’ struggle that went to the Lower Bracket began. Although Imperial Esports is a team with many expectations, it did not achieve success. On the other hand, NIP was able to advance to the upper stage with a clear score of 2-0 in the classic.

Lower Bracket Round 2

  • MIBR 0 – 2 Team Liquid
  • Cloud 9 2 – 0 Ninjas in Pyjamas

Team Liquid continued to take their opponents by surprise throughout the tournament. They were ready to face C9 in the Lower Bracket Final as they continued to score consecutive wins.

Lower Bracket Round 3

  • Team Liquid 0 – 2 Cloud 9

What followed was the final point of the tournament for Team Liquid and their fans. In addition, we can say that the fight on the way to the championship for Cloud 9 is just beginning. Now they have a tough FaZe challenge and a final series where they can reach the championship.

Playoffs

On June 2, 2022, the IEM Dallas 2022 group stage concluded. And when we look at the results, the teams that will compete in the Playoffs are; FURIA Esports, G2 Esports, FaZe Clan, Cloud9, BIG and ENCE. However, at this point, it should be noted that ENCE and BIG will start directly from the semi-finals. Before the grand final, let’s take a quick look at the quarter and semi-finals.

Quarterfinals

Throughout the entire tournament, the fiercest matches took place in the quarter-finals. While FURIA faced G2, FaZe Clan competed with Cloud 9. The fight between FaZe Clan and Cloud 9 was already thought to be an early finale. And so it was, we witnessed great hits and comebacks.

  • FaZe Clan 1 – 2 Cloud 9

FURIA Esports 2 – 1 G2 Esports

The first match of the quarter-finals was between FURIA and G2. And it was very challenging for both teams. The first map was Inferno; although the score was finished 16-13, G2 had a clear advantage throughout the entire match.

The second map started with the selection of Vertigo and again with heavy pressure from G2 Esports. Moreover, in the second map, the score was 11-3 and fired the G2 fans. Yet since this is CSGO, we never know what will happen next. In Round 12, it was as if FURIA was blessed by divine power, and they started winning rounds in a row. Continuing to take rounds against each other, both teams brought the score up to 15-13. After that, everything depended on luck. As a result of consecutive overtime, FURIA managed to beat G2 Esports by making the score 19.

The last map was Mirage, and frankly, we don’t have much to tell. Because FURIA managed to advance to the semi-finals by winning with a score of 5 to 16. They said goodbye to the tournament, losing rounds in a row before G2 Esports could even react.

FaZe Clan 1 – 2 Cloud 9

FaZe, and Cloud 9 were by far the two favorite teams of the tournament. They deserve this success because of their performance and their endlessly stubborn playstyle. This time, two legendary teams face off to share their trump card.

The first map started with Overpass. In the matches, each map was so fierce that no team could gain a clear advantage. FaZe Clan won one round, and Cloud 9 won the other. At this point, the score came as far as 15-14 for the first map. However, the poor performance of the hobbit, along with the magnificent play of Twistzz and ropz, attracted attention. However, FaZe Clan won the first map by 16-14.

On the other hand, the second map broke out just like the first map. Rounds were taken and lost against each other. Cloud 9 managed to win as Ax1le became unstoppable at the end of the day. Ax1le, who received 34 kills in total, left his mark on the match.

Ax1le, who managed to dominate the FaZe Clan players, managed to get the semi-final ticket to his team. Although they played magnificently, they achieved a tough victory. Also notable was the performance of FaZe’s ropz on map three. As a result, Cloud 9 managed to beat FaZe 16-13 on the third map.

Semifinals

The semi-finals were already predetermined. However, at this point, we would like to point out that the semi-finals were not as exciting as the quarter-finals. Because ENCE and Cloud 9 managed to beat their opponents without much difficulty.

ENCE 2 – 0 FURIA Esports

The ENCE and FURIA struggle started with Vertigo on the first map. We think that the first map was the most exciting match of the semi-finals in terms of excitement. However, Maden and Snappi’s great play helped ENCE win 16-14. Although KSCERATO managed to attract attention with 24 kills in FURIA, he could not find the support he was looking for from his teammates.

The second map started in Nuke and was a head-to-head fight. For a while, both teams were mutually winning and losing rounds. Still, FURIA was leading by 8-5 in the middle of the match. After that, a great disaster scenario occurred. ENCE suddenly won 10 rounds in a row. Surprised by what had happened, the FURIA team could not recover. And they lost the second map 16-9 against ENCE, who played perfectly.

BIG 1 – 2 Cloud 9

The second match of the semi-finals started with the battle of BIG and Cloud 9 on the Overpass map. BIG and its successful team put on a great game and managed to dominate Cloud 9. However, we can say that this was not as easy as they expected. Because in Cloud 9, Ax1le and The Hobbit were not willing to give up. Both continued to resist, taking 26 and 27 kills. Still unable to find the support they wanted from their teammates, they lost 16-14 against BIG.

The second map started with Dust 2 and a clear C9 lead. With C9 leading 1-6, BIG tried to recover early in the match. And as a result, they managed to bring the score to 9-9. However, there was a Hobbit detail that BIG did not take into account. Taking the IGL of the match, The Hobbit managed to win seven rounds in a row for C9 with 10 HS hits and 24 kills. And they won the second map 16-9.

We can say that the third map was one of the matches that C9 managed to win the easiest. The C9 team, which started by deciphering BIG’s style of play and not playing in harmony with it, did not give their opponents a chance. They managed to beat the last match 16-3 before the final on the Ancient map.

IEM Dallas 2022 Grand Final – Champion Cloud 9

And finally, to introduce you to the champion of IEM Dallas 2022. Cloud 9 and its experienced players, who had a tough tournament process, finally managed to become champions. As you know, C9 have taken a break from the CSGO Esports scene for a long time. However, after a while, they bought the roster of Gambit Esports and made a return to CSGO. And this is the first success after the comeback.

C9, who faced ENCE in the grand final of IEM Dallas 2022, managed to win with a clear score of 2-0. However, the match was so fierce that we can say that both teams fought well. Especially here we want to open a separate window for C9 players sh1ro, Ax1le and HObbit. They showed their teams the help they could on both maps.

First Map Mirage ENCE 12 – 16 Cloud 9

There was an incredible ENCE edition on the first map when the game started. In fact, the score came to 8-2 at one point, allowing a serious gap to be opened. Whatever happened, it already happened after this score. C9 players, who wanted to stop the bad trend, started to recover by taking rounds one after the other. With the score at 10-6, ENCE made a few more pressure attempts but again backfired. And as a result, the score came up to 11-11. Now ENCE had lost the control it had taken from the beginning of the match. As a result of this, C9, who showed a great team play, did not forgive ENCE, who lost control and won the first map.

Second Map Overpass ENCE 11 – 16 Cloud 9

The Overpass map was a disaster for ENCE. Because ENCE hasn’t been able to take full advantage of Snappi and Mine throughout this map, although Snax tries to wear out the C9 alone, we can say that it is not enough. On the contrary, C9 was acting as a whole. The match went head-to-head until the end of the game. In addition, C9 players continued their games as a whole. Taking control of the team towards the end of the match, Sh1ro and Ax1Le played the big game that would lead C9 to victory. As a result, C9 became the IEM Dallas 2022 champion.

Final Map Ancient ENCE 3 – 16 Cloud 9

We have almost nothing to tell for the final map. When you look at the score, you already understand why we say that. ENCE was on the third map, almost accepting defeat. ENCE, who managed to score only 3 points during the first 8 rounds, could not show its presence throughout the match. Nafany and Sh1ro heavily penalized ENCE’s passive playing. As a result of consecutive scores, the match ended exactly 16-3. And Cloud 9 became the champion of IEM Dallas 2022.
