Throughout the history of the LCS, there’s been a total of 33 teams that have taken part in it. Both the spring and summer splits conclude with an elimination tournament between the 10 teams. Then, at the end of the season, the 1st place, 2nd place, and 3rd place teams from LCS Summer automatically qualify for the all-important League of Legends World Championship (also known as Worlds).

At LCS Summer 2023, all 10 LCS teams will fight it out to finish in the top 3 positions, as this is a guaranteed way to get a spot at the Worlds.
